Tibetan Unicode enabling Windows Vista or Windows 7
Input methods and complex script display
No software needs to be installed: Windows Vista / 7 already contain all three required components: an input method (see Control Panel / Regional and Language settings for a Tibetan keyboard), support to display Tibetan script and a Tibetan font, Microsoft Himalaya.
Additional Tibetan Fonts and Wylie Input Methods
In addition you might want to install additional Tibetan Fonts (all existing Unicode fonts seem to work well) or an alternative Tibetan Input Method, for example TISE. TISE supports Wylie.
- For an introduction on how to type Wylie with TISE, check: Tibetan Input Method.
- For list of additional Tibetan fonts, check Tibetan Fonts.
You can directly start using Notepad, OpenOffice or the latest Microsoft Office version to create Tibetan documents in standard Unicode encoding.
